Lest We Forget

I spent 10 years in the Royal Engineers from 1964 to 1974, a period in the history of Britain were officially there was no wars but many minor campaigns.

It was also a period when the young people rebelled against the idea that there own governments could just walk into any country that did not agree with their political ideology, and change their beliefs.

It was also a period when people would not accept the sacrifices they were asked to make for ideals they disapproved of

This was a period when the media could immediately show the devastating effect of modern warfare.

This piece is to remind people that this can happen to all people caught up in modern warfare
